Think of a world

This is a poem my sister Joy wrote about the new world promised in the Bible.

(I have added some corresponding scripture references in case you're doubting.)

Think of a world

Think of a world, a world without tears.
Where a man can live for a thousand years.
With never a grief, an ache or pain,
And never the thought of dying again.

Think of a world where a man plants a vine,
and he sits in it’s shade
and says: ”This is mine.”
He will dwell in a house that his own hands has made.
And none shall molest him and make him afraid.

Think of a world without bloodshed and strife,
where no man can take another man’s wife.
Where men everywhere will unite in peace,
and malice and hatred forever will cease.

Think of a world as a green paradise,
where mountain and desert dazzle your eyes.
with beautiful flowers, trees, and blue skies,
with animals, birds, and happy butterflies.

Think just as sure as God’s word is truth,
a man will go back to the days of his youth.
His flesh will become as the flesh of a child
and the words that he speaks will be gentle and mild.

Think of a world where the lame man will leap,
bounding for joy like a deer or a sheep,

where none will be deaf, the blind ones will see,
the speechless ones will speak and sing joyfully

Think of a world where men are all brothers,
esteeming themselves as none above others,
where a man greets a man as a frend to a friend,
in a world without tears – and it will never end.

Think of a world where the dead will arise,
from the silent tombs to a dream paradise,
to live forever in peace and love,
and all cared for by our great God above.

Now a world without tears is not just a dream,
to some, too good to be true, is what it may seem.
But just as sure as God’s word is true,
A world without tears now lies before you.

So if these words have opened your eyes,
would you like to live in Earth’s paradise?
To share all the blessings that God has in store
for all who do his will evermore?

Good news of his kingdom is still being sung
throughout every nation, people and tongue
and all who are thirsting for truth are invited
to accept this good news – be warmly invited.

In praising our God, our Saviour and King,
who gives us our all, our lives, everything.
So that we might live through endless years
in a world without sorrow, a world without tears.
